Meeting of the Minds a Jimmy Buffet festival has moved from the Florida Keys into Gulf Shores, Alabama, scheduled for October 2024.

A new chapter begins for thousands of Jimmy Buffett fans, affectionately known as Parrot Heads. This also signifies a fresh event for the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach region. Meeting of the Minds (MOTM), the annual Parrot Heads In Paradise (PHiP) convention, traditionally takes place at the end of October and beginning of November. While it was previously hosted in New Orleans and Key West, the new home of MOTM is now Gulf Shores, Alabama.

For over 25 years, the "Meeting of the Minds" Parrot Head group has held its annual celebration in Key West, Florida. Now, this vibrant event honoring Jimmy Buffett's music and lifestyle is moving to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

From October 24th to the 29th, Parrot Heads from across the nation will flock to the beach at Gulf Shores to enjoy live music from both local and national beach-style musicians. Events will be hosted at popular venues including LuLu's, Flora-Bama, Zeke's, The Gulf, Picnic Beach, Burro Azul, and the headlining venue, The Hangout.

Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to addressing community and environmental concerns while providing social activities for fans of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he embodies.

Hangout Hospitality, the event host, expressed their excitement about bringing the event to Gulf Shores for the entire community to enjoy. They noted that the Parrot Head tradition has deep roots in the area and that the event has the potential to become an annual gathering.

Jimmy Buffett had a rich history with the Flora-Bama, and his sister Lucy runs a famous restaurant in Gulf Shores. He performed several concerts at the Wharf and delivered a memorable benefit concert on the beach to support the oil spill recovery efforts.

General Registration for the entirety our annual convention is $172.22. Attendees exclusively get 40-plus hours of great music in an awesome location for less than the price of sitting in an arena seat for two hours to see one act. MOTM has also added several outside venues this year. In order to use the Event Shuttle one must be registered for the event, which is available for $75 extra.

Currently, the full lineup for the Meeting of the Minds (MOTM) event in Gulf Shores, Alabama, has not been officially released. However, it has been confirmed that the event will feature a variety of live performances by both local and national beach-style musicians. Notable venues include LuLu's, Flora-Bama, Zeke's, The Gulf, Picnic Beach, Burro Azul, and The Hangout​​.

Local musician Brent Burns, who has been involved with the Parrot Head community for many years, is among the performers. He will primarily be performing at LuLu’s, a venue he has been associated with for over 20 years​​.
