The Genesis of It All
Hello, I'm Barrett, and my husband’s name is Roger. Together, we're the proud owners and operators of Beats Working. Our journey began with a modest dream of living and working by the water. With years of experience in hospitality, gained through roles in restaurants, hotels, and resorts, we were ready to embark on a new adventure. In 2014, fate smiled upon us when the opportunity to manage a home in the vibrant city of New Orleans came our way. Within just a year of launching our boutique property management company, we found ourselves overseeing 25 unique properties throughout the city. It's been an incredible journey, and we're thrilled to continue sharing our passion for hospitality with guests from around the world.
The Journey Towards Expansion
As a proud Bama girl, I introduced Roger to the breathtaking beauty of Gulf Shores, Alabama, during a family vacation. Roger, a man of many talents, is not only a licensed Alabama real estate salesperson but also a retired Disaster Responder. His experience is invaluable in managing vacation rentals in remote mountainous regions and hurricane-prone coastal areas. By 2018, our management portfolio expanded to include properties in both New Orleans and along the stunning Emerald Coast. In the fall of 2022, we further extended our reach by taking on the management of two mountaintop cabins in the majestic Smoky Mountains and one in the Rocky Mountains.
Venturing into the Sunshine State
In 2021, we visited Key West, Florida, and fell in love with its vibrant atmosphere and ease of exploration. The following year, we enjoyed an extended stay, deepening our appreciation for its charm, reminiscent of our New Orleans beginnings. Delray Beach also won us over with its unique appeal and pedestrian-friendly streets, while our family ties to Vero Beach add a special connection to the area. With this deep love for South Florida, we're excited to expand Beats Working to include vacation homes across the Sunshine State, specifically in South Florida. Krewe du Wu is Forever
We regret to inform you that our management services for rentals have come to an end in New Orleans, Louisiana—the original port of call for Beats Working! Unfortunately, due to the stringent COVID regulations implemented during 2020 and beyond, coupled with the recent enactment of restrictive short-term rental regulations by the city, it has become impractical for us to continue managing properties in New Orleans. Although we may no longer have business ties there, we eagerly anticipate returning to New Orleans, where we also have family, to soak in its vibrant culture and rich history whenever we can. For those still seeking a place to stay in this vibrant city, we are pleased to share that our brother has a lovely Airbnb in New Orleans, ensuring you can still enjoy the charm and hospitality of this unique destination.
