The owners, who live in Atlanta, Georgia, where they work full-time and raise their three daughters, had always dreamed of owning a property with panoramic mountain views. They sought a place to escape their hectic daily lives and to share with like-minded travelers seeking a serene mountain vacation.

In the summer of 2021, a friend introduced the owners to Murphy, North Carolina, an authentic mountain town offering outdoor adventures, live music and festivals, delicious local cuisine, and the unspoiled beauty of the Smoky Mountains. Unlike the touristy feel of some larger North Georgia and North Carolina locales, Murphy provided the tranquility they desired. They discovered the private Five Forks mountain community, where the breathtaking views, friendly neighbors, and abundant wildlife made for a perfect haven. They fell in love with an architect-designed cabin featuring a modern, open feel and awe-inspiring views.

Misty Mountain comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests with three king beds, a set of twin bunk beds, and a twin daybed with a trundle. While there are no sleeper sofas, the bonus room off the downstairs deck includes a futon that converts to a full bed and a flat-screen smart television. This bonus room is not intended for sleeping for parties under 10; however, should your reservation require additional sleeping space for up to 12 guests, prior host approval is required for all reservations over 10. The interior living space spans 2,080 square feet, providing ample room for relaxation and enjoyment.
